Barely a year after ascending the throne, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has died at the age of 90.
The monarch, who became the 43rd Olubadan on July 12, 2024, passed away in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025.
Details surrounding his death remain unclear, as neither the palace spokesperson nor Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has issued an official statement.
Oba Olakulehin had just celebrated his 90th birthday on July 5.
