Nigeria’s tax administration entered a new phase on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, as the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) formally unveiled its institutional brand identity, completing its transition from the former Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
The event in Abuja showcased the agency’s new logo and visual identity, underscoring the implementation of the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Act 2025, signed into law by President Bola Tinubu in June 2025.
Executive Chairman of the NRS, Zacch Adedeji, said the rebranding goes beyond a change of name and symbol, representing a strategic shift in how the country’s revenue authority relates with citizens and conducts its operations.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dare Adekanmbi, Adedeji explained that the new identity embodies a commitment to a more integrated, technology-driven and citizen-focused tax system that supports Nigeria’s broader economic reforms and aligns with global standards.
He noted that the transformation reflects continuity of mandate with renewed energy, stronger institutional capacity and a deliberate focus on customer service and national development.
Adedeji said, “The Nigeria Revenue Service remains committed to transparency, partnership and service excellence”, stressing that the rebrand signals “the beginning of a deeper, trust-based relationship between the Service and the Nigerian public, anchored on clarity, accountability and shared prosperity.”
