A Nigerian popular actor and movie producer, Murphy Afolabi, who fell in the bathroom and died yesterday was buried according to Muslim rite today at his Ikorodu residence.
Murphy’s burial was witnessed by notable actors and actresses including Bolaji Amusan popularly known as Mr Latin, president of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Mercy Aigbe, Baba Tee and Damola Olatunji Kamilu Campor.
Also in attendance were Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, the head of the Lagos state branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, and Alhaji Alabi Pasuma.
Murphy’s journey to his final resting place started around 2 pm when his body was taken from the Isolo General Hospital Mortuary, where it was deposited yesterday and accompanied to the burial ground with an entourage of about 100 vehicles.
The area boys had a field day as they harassed, intimidated, and forced sympathizers to give them money.
