The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has met with Yvette Cooper, the British Foreign Secretary, in London to deepen cooperation between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
In a statement, Tuggar said the meeting, which took place at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, focused on practical ways to strengthen collaboration between the two countries, nations he described as being bound by history, shared democratic values, and a mutual commitment to building a more secure and prosperous future.
According to him, discussions centered on key areas such as trade and investment, security, education, migration, energy transition, and climate action. Both sides also reviewed progress on existing partnerships and explored new opportunities to connect innovation with impact.
The minister noted that the talks highlighted plans to expand investment in Nigeria’s technology and creative sectors, while aligning joint efforts on renewable energy and regional stability.
