The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has commiserated with world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, following a fatal road accident involving him, his friends, and aides along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
In a condolence message issued by the Commission and signed by its Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa expressed sadness over the death of two members of Joshua’s entourage who lost their lives in the crash, which occurred on Monday.
The statement noted that the accident claimed two lives, while Joshua sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical attention.
Dabiri-Erewa described the incident as a tragic loss and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
“I hereby wish you a quick recovery from your injuries and pray unto God to accept the souls of the deceased and give you and their families the fortitude to bear the loss,” she said.
The statement added that Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State have issued a joint message, assuring that they are closely monitoring the situation and will ensure Joshua and his driver receive the best possible medical care.
