The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos socialite and nightclub owner Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, alongside former Big Brother Naija housemate Tuoyo Ideh, and more than 100 other guests during a midnight raid on Proxy Nightclub, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, followed credible intelligence about an alleged drug party being held at the club.
According to a statement signed by the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, and published on the agency’s website, cartons of banned substances, including “Loud” (a potent strain of cannabis) and laughing gas (nitrous oxide), were recovered from the venue.
“In Lagos, NDLEA operatives in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, raided Proxy Nightclub at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, where a drug party was going on. Over 100 suspects, including the owner of the club, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening,” the statement read.
Babafemi explained that NDLEA operatives had infiltrated the nightclub at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, before moving in on the gathering at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, in line with the agency’s standard operating procedures.
“Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from suspects at the party and the club’s store,” the agency added.
Confirming his arrest, Tuoyo Ideh took to his Instagram page on Sunday to share his experience, alleging that he and others were detained despite committing no offence.
“I have been arrested by the NDLEA from a nightclub in Lagos for basically doing nothing at all since around 4 a.m. They made us sit down like criminals; we were over 150 people taken to NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi. We didn’t commit any crime—they came in with guns and told everyone to lie down,” he wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, the NDLEA stated that all those arrested, including Pretty Mike and Tuoyo, were undergoing screening and investigation at the agency’s Ikoyi Command Headquarters.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to curbing the use and distribution of illicit substances in public spaces and warned that club owners found aiding drug-related activities would face prosecution under Nigerian law.
