Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday, December 8, 2025, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, revealing that the arrears of the new minimum wage, earlier promised for payment at the end of September, will now be paid alongside the December 2025 salary.
The governor made the announcement during the inauguration of the new Governing Council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital.
He also assured civil servants that, as has been the practice since 2019, they will receive a 13th-month salary at the end of the year.
Makinde used the occasion to reveal that a major transformation project is underway at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Oyo, noting that the facility will be completely revamped and fully operational within the next 12 months.
“We are executing a special project at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Oyo. The hospital will be revamped and operational in 12 months,” he said.
The governor congratulated the newly inaugurated Governing Council, chaired by renowned scholar, Prof. Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, expressing confidence in their capacity to reposition the teaching hospital for improved service delivery.

Makinde said his administration looks forward to the successful implementation of the council’s roadmap to enhance healthcare service delivery in the state.
He restated his commitment to strengthening LAUTECH’s medical infrastructure and uplifting the welfare of Oyo State workers, describing both as key pillars of his administration’s development agenda.
