More facts have emerged about Deola, the missing daughter of veteran Nigerian actress Jumoke George, who reportedly traveled to Mali in search of greener pastures.
Recent updates indicate that Deola, the mother of two, is alive and currently residing in one of the remote villages in Mali.
Sources revealed that communication has been established with Deola, who shared her struggles and dire situation.
She disclosed that she does not have enough money to travel to Bamako, the capital city, where she could possibly access the Nigerian embassy to process an international passport.
According to her, the journey from her village to Bamako costs 30 SFR (West African CFA Franc), covering both transportation and mandatory tips for police officers at multiple checkpoints to avoid arrest and imprisonment.
One of the major hurdles she faces is the inability to purchase a SIM card, as Malian law requires foreigners to present both an international passport and a national identity card before buying one.
This restriction has left Deola disconnected from regular communication, making it impossible for her to reach out to family and friends.
Deola admitted that she intentionally kept her situation hidden from her mother, Jumoke George, to avoid causing her distress over her poor living conditions in Mali.
Despite her determination, she lamented her inability to make money and expressed a strong desire to return home.
At the time of filing this report, the mother has been relocated from the Upper Miracle Cathedral of the Celestial Christian Church of God (CCC), where is living when threw out of her rented house due to her inability to pay the house rent.
The family is hopeful that with timely intervention, Deola’s return will be swift, bringing an end to the long-standing worry of her whereabouts and well-being, as many people have volunteered to assist in all way to get her back to Nigeria.
