The Imo State Police Command has arrested more than 700 suspects within the past two months in a sweeping crackdown on criminal activities across the state.
The arrests, according to the Command, cut across terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery, and insurgency. In the course of the operations, police operatives dismantled several criminal camps scattered across the state.
Items recovered during the raids include a cache of arms, assorted ammunition, explosives, counterfeit currency, charms, and illicit drugs.
The Command noted that the sustained offensive was aimed at restoring peace and ensuring the safety of lives and property in Imo State. It assured residents that it would continue to intensify efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
