Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Thursday, June 25, 2025, announced the renaming of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, after the former Governor of the state, Dr Omololu Olunloyo
Makinde made this announcement at the interdenominational commendation service held in honour of the late former governor at the Obafemi Awolowo stadium in Ibadan.
By this pronouncement, the institution is now rebranded to be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.
The deceased, who passed away on April 6, 2025, just few weeks to his 90th birthday, was the first rector of the polytechnic.
