All is set for the historic coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday, September 26, 2025, at the iconic Mapo Hall in Ibadan.
In preparation for the epoch-making ceremony, Mapo Hall has been given a fresh coat of paint. At the same time, multiple stages have been constructed both within the premises and along the Oja’ba road to accommodate the expected large crowd and other activities.
The event is expected to be graced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is reportedly relocating the seat of power temporarily to Ibadan for the occasion.
Also expected are an array of political heavyweights, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and dignitaries from across the country.
Oba Ladoja, a seasoned politician and statesman, previously served as governor of Oyo State and senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
His coronation is widely regarded as a historic moment for Ibadanland and a celebration of his enduring influence in the socio-political landscape of Nigeria.
