Popular Nollywood actress Abimbola Adegboye, popularly known as Iya Ato, has revealed that if given another chance at youth, she would have pursued dancing as a full-time career, citing her deep passion for the art.
Adegboye made this known during a recent dialogue interview on a YouTube channel, where she spoke candidly about her personal life, career aspirations and journey to motherhood.
According to the actress, dancing has always been close to her heart, and she would have committed herself fully to it with the aim of achieving global recognition. She added that she would gladly support a child with a talent for dance, describing it as a gift she truly admires.
The actress also opened up about the challenges she faced in her quest for motherhood, revealing that it took her 10 years after marriage to have her first child. She noted that despite the long wait, she lived responsibly in her younger years and had no history of abortion.
“I don’t know the cause of the delay, but I thank God that when He remembered me, He blessed me with twins,” she said.
Adegboye, however, disclosed that the joy was mixed with sorrow, as she lost one of the twin boys.
Expressing gratitude to God despite the painful loss, the actress described her journey as one marked by faith, resilience and appreciation for life’s blessings.
