There are strong indications that Senator Hosea Agboola, a former stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is on the verge of joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.
The development became clearer after the former Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, popularly known as Halleluyah, paid a courtesy visit to Florence Ajimobi, the wife of the late former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Agboola, who his political associates accompanied, met with Mrs. Ajimobi in what observers believe signals his imminent defection to the APC.
Confirming the visit, Ajimobi stated, “It was a pleasure to receive former Senator representing Oyo North in the National Assembly, Senator Hosea Agboola (Halleluyah), and his team on a courtesy visit today. Our conversation was both engaging and insightful. His wealth of political experience and dedication to service will be a great asset to the APC family in Oyo.”
Political watchers in the state view the meeting as part of ongoing realignments ahead of the next election cycle, with Agboola’s possible entry into the APC expected further to strengthen the party’s structure in Oyo State.
