Gunmen have carried out a series of deadly attacks across northern Nigeria over the past 72 hours, leaving dozens dead and many others abducted.
In Adamawa State, suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked Madagali, the hometown of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, on Tuesday night, killing at least 24 people, according to local sources. This marks the fourth attack on the town in five months. Police are yet to confirm official figures.
In Kebbi State, gunmen stormed a mosque in Dadinkowa, Maiyama LGA, on Wednesday night, killing five worshippers and injuring three during prayers. Authorities say the attack was a suspected terrorist reprisal.
Meanwhile, fresh abductions were reported in Sokoto and Kwara states. In Sokoto’s Rabah LGA, several residents were kidnapped, while in Kwara’s Babanla community, four family members were taken from their farmland. Local youths have protested the attacks, calling for urgent action.
Security officials, including the Chief of Army Staff, have emphasised the need for stronger military capabilities, while state leaders vowed justice for victims.
