A five-man gang of suspected kidnappers has abducted the wife and daughter of Alhaji Muhammad Swasun, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Patigi Local Government Area. The victims, Hajiya Fatima and her daughter Amina, were taken from the family home in the Sakpefu area on Sunday night.
According to reports, the assailants scaled the compound fence and fired sporadically into the air to intimidate residents before breaking into a room where the wife and daughter were located. They were reportedly whisked away at gunpoint to an unknown location.
A member of the state APC executive council, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident on Monday. “It’s true that our Chairman’s wife and daughter were kidnapped last night. He said he was lucky not to be taken as well. The bandits jumped over his fence, shot into the air, and took his wife and daughter from one of the rooms,” he said.
Sources revealed that the kidnappers operated for several minutes before escaping with their victims. Security agencies are yet to release a statement, and the location of the abducted women remains undisclosed.
Authorities and residents have urged vigilance, while calls have been made for swift action to ensure the safe return of the victims.
