The four suspects alleged to have killed Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of the National Leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, arrested recently, have been arraigned today before the Ondo State Chief Magistrate, Mrs Victoria Bob-Manuel.
The suspects are Muhammed Usman, 26; Mazaje Lawal, 40; Adamu Adamu, 60 and Awalu Abubakar, 25.
They were arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, murder and kidnapping.
The court declined taken the plea of the accused persons and they were ordered to be remanded at the Nigeria Correctional Centre in Owo pending the receipt of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The court also ordered that the accused persons be tested for COVID-19 by the officials of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to ascertain their status before being taken to the correctional centre.
Bob-Manuel further ruled that the original copy of the case file be sent to the state’s Chief Registrar for safe keeping and adjourned the case till June 3 for legal advice.
