Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed empowerment items to 500 women in Oyo State as part of efforts to boost small businesses and improve livelihoods.
The beneficiaries received items such as generators, chest freezers, grinding machines, and ovens.
According to the First Lady, the initiative is aimed at equipping women with the tools they need to strengthen their enterprises, create jobs, and contribute to the local economy.
She noted that women play a critical role in sustaining families and driving grassroots development, adding that the gesture aligns with her vision of empowering women across the country to become more self-reliant.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the First Lady, describing the intervention as timely support that would help them expand their businesses and improve their household income.
The empowerment programme is one of several social investment initiatives being championed by Mrs. Tinubu in states across Nigeria.
