The Lagos State Government has announced the arrival of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on an official visit to the state.
According to a statement on Thursday, the First Lady will today begin her first official trip to Lagos since assuming office.
As part of her engagements, Senator Tinubu will on Saturday present empowerment items to 1,000 women at the State House, Alausa, Ikeja. She is also expected to commission the Lagos Industrial Leather Hub in Matori, Mushin, described as West Africa’s biggest leather cluster.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu urged residents to extend a warm welcome to the First Lady, commending her efforts to support women and vulnerable groups.
“We are proud of her initiatives, which will surely bring smiles to the faces of the vulnerable among us,” the governor said.
Sanwo-Olu noted that the visit underscores the First Lady’s dedication to national unity, women and children’s advancement, and social welfare initiatives, which align with the state’s commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development.
