Fresh FM, a popular radio station owned by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele, was on Friday evening gutted by fire in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The incident was confirmed by a staff member, Sanuel Ibikunle Arugboboisi, who raised the alarm in a Facebook post, appealing for urgent intervention from emergency responders and members of the public.
“Fresh FM is currently on fire! We urgently need the Fire Service to respond immediately,” Arugboboisi wrote, urging residents to alert the nearest fire station without delay.
As of the time of filing this report, firefighters were already on the scene battling to contain the blaze. Preliminary findings suggest the fire may have been triggered by an electrical fault, although the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
The extent of damage remains unclear, but eyewitnesses report that parts of the facility have been severely affected. The management has since made a press release on the incident.
