The Federal Government has reiterated its determination to reposition Nigeria’s education sector stressing that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would mobilise both public and private sector support to uplift educational institutions such as the University of Ibadan (UI), Nigeria’s premier university.
Vice President Kashim Shettima revealed this today when he received the management of the University of Ibadan (UI), led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale.
During the visit, Shettima, an alumnus of the nation’s premier university was bestowed with the highest alumni honour of the institution: “UI at 75 Ambassador Plenipotentiary.”
He said, “This is an honour that I cherish deeply. Ibadan is certainly the greatest citadel of learning in this country and in West Africa. When we were there, we had students from South Africa, Namibia, and even the Caribbean.”
It would be recalled that the administration of Tinubu has initiated and implemented lots of reforms in the university educational system including the introduction of Student Loan (NELFUND) and curriculum overhaul.
