The Federal Ministry of Education has unveiled Inspire Live(s) Online Real-Time Classes, a nationwide digital learning initiative designed to expand access to quality education for children across Nigeria.
In a statement released Tuesday, November 25, 2025, signed by the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, the programme was described as “groundbreaking”, aimed at providing equitable learning opportunities for every Nigerian child.
According to the statement, it is part of the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The ministry said the initiative addresses long-standing challenges in the education sector, including shortages of qualified teachers and frequent disruptions to classroom learning.
It stated that by streaming live, interactive lessons directly to students, Inspire Live(s) seeks to democratise access to education, ensuring no child is left behind, regardless of location or circumstance.
Education Minister Tunji Alausa confirmed that the programme is already in full implementation, with plans to cover all classes from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3.
Currently, Inspire Live(s) offers online lessons for Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS) students, running Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., delivered by certified master teachers via Cisco Webex.
For JSS students, the subjects include: Basic Science, Mathematics, English Language, ICT, Agricultural Science, Basic Technology, Civic Education, French, Physical Education, Religious Studies, History, and Business Studies.
For SSS students, the programme offers: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing/Catering Craft, Civic Education, and Automobile Mechanics.
To ensure nationwide participation, all state Commissioners for Education have been instructed to appoint a State Focal Officer to coordinate Inspire Live(s) activities and circulate programme details to public and private school principals. States are also required to ensure that participating schools are equipped with basic ICT facilities and stable internet connectivity, necessary for seamless online learning.
The ministry emphasised that registration must be completed by school principals via Inspire’s official support channels. The programme is open to all public and private schools nationwide, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive education.
