Toni Payne, the ex-wife of a popular Nigerian artiste, Abolore Akande popularly known as 9ice has relocated back to the United States of America (USA), stressing that the best decision she has ever made was to leave Nigeria for Los Angeles and leaving her musical career.
She noted that she hated the distraction and noise that came with being a public figure, hence, her choice for success and sanity over fame.
She stated, “Looking at all I’ve acquired in a short period and thinking, leaving music was the best decision I’ve made career wise. Leaving naija and coming back to LA was another. I hate the distractions and noise that come with the public factor. I choose true success, not audio success and sanity over fame when I left music & naija”.
“I still get a lot of artists who wanna work with me but truth is, I’m no longer selfless in that department. See ehn, sometimes you’ve gotta choose to be selfish and build your thing, not someone else, or else you’ll have nothing to show for all your hard work except people here and there know your name… some mostly to gossip smh! Lol”, she concluded.
