Operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 15 men for their alleged involvement in the illegal handling and transportation of radioactive solid minerals.
According to the commission, the suspects were intercepted on Sunday, March 8, 2026, along Suleja-Maji Road in Niger State while moving the suspected minerals in three trucks.
The minerals were reportedly being transported to multiple locations across Nigeria for undisclosed purposes.

The arrested individuals are currently undergoing further investigations at the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC. The commission stated that the suspects will soon be charged to court as part of ongoing legal proceedings.
This arrest underscores the EFCC’s continued efforts to combat illegal economic activities, particularly those involving hazardous materials, which pose both financial and environmental risks.
