The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Dr. Timileyin Oluseyi, a Nigerian-born medical doctor based in the United States, for achieving a historic milestone in his medical residency programme.
In a statement signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, NiDCOM Head of Media, Public Relations & Protocols Unit, Dr. Oluseyi made headlines after sweeping all eight top awards during his medical residency graduation, an unprecedented feat in the history of the institution. Even more significantly, he became the first Black resident to attain such a comprehensive academic distinction, surpassing his peers across every key performance metric.
Describing the achievement as a source of immense pride for Nigeria and the global Black community, Dabiri-Erewa hailed Dr. Oluseyi’s exceptional brilliance and dedication.
“This is excellence at its peak. Dr. Timileyin Oluseyi has demonstrated the spirit of resilience, brilliance, and exceptional dedication that Nigerians in the diaspora are known for. He has not only raised the bar in the field of medicine but has also become a beacon of hope and inspiration for young Nigerians around the world”, she said.
She further emphasised the need to celebrate such landmark achievements in order to reshape global perceptions and spotlight the positive contributions of Nigerians across diverse sectors.
“His achievement is a strong reminder of the great potential within our diaspora community. We are proud of him and look forward to even greater milestones,” she added.
