The paternity drama surrounding the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has taken a new twist as the Lagos Family Court has ordered a DNA test for his son, Liam.
At the hearing on September 2, 2025, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, through his lawyer Adegbemi A.A., asked the court to mandate that the test be carried out outside Nigeria. Interestingly, Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, who appeared in court with her counsel, did not oppose the application.
The court granted the request and ruled that two separate DNA tests must be conducted — one in Nigeria and another abroad — at accredited hospitals. Both parties or their representatives are also required to be present when the samples are collected.
The case has now been adjourned until November 11, 2025.
The case, marked Suit No: MKD/31/FAM/2024, has drawn widespread public interest due to the ongoing controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death and the legitimacy claims regarding his son.
