The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that Nigeria could not have wished for a more capable leader than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at this crucial stage of its national journey.
In a statement issued on Wednesday to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, praised Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a visionary reformer steering the country away from decades of misrule and corruption.
“As Nigeria proudly marks 65 years of independence, we celebrate not just our sovereignty but also our resilience as a people. At this defining moment, it is clear that no one is better suited to lead the nation than President Tinubu: courageous, visionary, and determined to pull Nigeria out of the deep hole dug by years of reckless governance”, Oladejo said.
Oladejo commended the President’s bold economic decisions, including the removal of fuel subsidy and wide-ranging interventions in agriculture, food security, infrastructure, and education.
He particularly highlighted the introduction of free technical education and student stipends as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to long-term national development rather than short-term populism.
“At 65, Nigeria needs a leader who will build, not plunder; one who will invest in the future rather than mortgage it for political gain. President Tinubu is doing exactly that, while those who squandered the nation’s wealth now plot their return in 2027. Nigerians are wiser and will reject such deception”, he said.
Calling Tinubu “the reformer-in-chief,” Oladejo said the President’s policies are already laying a strong foundation for a new era of opportunity, justice, and shared prosperity.
“He has demonstrated the difference between leadership driven by vision and opposition driven by selfish ambition and ethnic politics,” he stated.
The APC urged citizens to rally behind Tinubu’s administration and resist attempts by opposition figures to derail the nation’s progress.
“The journey to greatness has begun. With Asiwaju at the helm, Nigeria is on course to reclaim her rightful place as the giant of Africa”, Oladejo added.
