Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday, May 22, 2025, passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and officially endorsed him as the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement came during the APC summit held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where thousands of party faithful gathered for a strategic review of the party’s progress and future direction.
The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by the Chairman of the APC Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma. It was promptly seconded by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, drawing a thunderous applause and resounding support from attendees.
The move is seen as a major boost to President Tinubu’s political standing within the ruling party and a signal of unity among APC stakeholders ahead of the next general election cycle.
Details of the summit’s resolutions and President Tinubu’s response to the endorsement are expected to be released shortly.
