A notable Nigerian public affairs analyst, Comrade Adebayo Akintunde Dada, has described the United States of America (USA) as a “scam” which, according to him, survives on exploiting other countries’ resources.
Dada also warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to do everything possible to stamp out terrorism in Nigeria, alleging that US President Donald Trump has intentions to take advantage of insecurity in the country.
Speaking on ‘Agbaletu’ tv show, he claimed that Trump’s ‘mission” is to invade Nigeria in order to steal its natural resources and deplete the nation’s reserves.
He urged President Tinubu to intensify efforts to eliminate terrorists so that, according to him, there would be no excuse for any external interference in Nigeria.
He said Tinubu’s ‘compromising” in the fight against terrorism because of his desire to secure a second term in office, adding that, without such ambitions, the president would have taken tougher action against terrorists.
“America is a scam. Tinubu is doing everything to stop America from treating Nigeria like Libya. If America takes over Nigeria, it will loot the country, empty our foreign reserve, and seize our resources. Therefore, Tinubu must do everything to rid Nigeria of terrorists so that Trump will not have any excuse to come and take over our economy”, he said.
On tackling insecurity, Dada called on Tinubu to arrest those he described as sponsors of terrorism, mentioning Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi and former Kaduna Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai.
He also urged the Federal Government to stop negotiating with terrorists and to end ransom payments.
He further advocated the death penalty for convicted terrorists, arguing that strict punishment would deter violent crimes.
According to him, Nigeria has repeatedly suffered misgovernance because it has been ruled by capitalists. “Nothing good can come from capitalists. Nigerian capitalists ruined Nigeria”, her said.
Dada also described the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari as the worst civilian government in Nigeria’s history, alleging that it pushed the nation backward by more than 100 years.
He claimed Buhari was surrounded by “corrupt capitalists” who shielded him from reality.”
He stated, “Those in charge then were Abba Kyari, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and el-Rufai. They are largely responsible for the hardship Nigerians face today. Buhari did not know what was going on; he approved whatever was brought before him.”
The anaysist called for the abolition of the two-term system of government, proposing a single five-year tenure for president and governors.
He also advocated regional government, or a two-tier structure consisting only of federal and local governments, arguing that state governments hinder the delivery of democratic dividends to the grassroots.
