Following actress Jumoke George’s cry for help over her missing daughter, Adeola, who had been unreachable for the past four years, a popular Nigerian actress and YouTuber, Biola Adebayo, has located her whereabouts.
It has been confirmed that Adeola is currently living as an illegal immigrant in Mali.
In an 8-minute, 38-second conversation with Biola Adebayo, Adeola disclosed that there are over 500 Nigerian migrants in prison custody in Mali.
She revealed this during a telephone chat, explaining that she has refused to attempt returning to Nigeria due to the lack of travel documents, as she wants to avoid incarceration by the Malian government.
She said: “I can’t travel back to Nigeria without travel documents. Nigerians in prison in Mali are more than 500. They were arrested on their way back to Nigeria without travel documents. Once an illegal migrant is arrested in Mali, such a person is immediately put in prison custody, and they are not released.”
Adeola further explained why she had been incommunicado for the past four years since she secretly left Nigeria without her family’s knowledge.
She said, “I don’t have a personal phone. I don’t have a SIM card. I borrowed the phone and SIM I am using to talk to you from a Malian citizen. I can’t process a SIM card because I don’t have a NIM number. I don’t have the contact of anybody back home. It’s been a long time since I spoke to Mummy. Very long. I won’t call her because if I do, she will just cry.”
“It pains me to suddenly show up to her. I have not spoken with my mummy for the past four years,” she added.
Adeola also narrated how she narrowly escaped death at the hands of Boko Haram, one of Africa’s deadliest Islamic terrorist groups, attributing her survival to her mother’s prayers.
“I know that my mummy’s prayers saved me from being killed by Boko Haram four years ago. I have gone through a lot in Mali. I am tired of staying here. The weather is terrible. I am now a sickler. When it’s hot in Mali, it’s extremely hot, and when it’s cold, it’s unbearably cold.”
Seeking assistance to facilitate her return to Nigeria, Adeola pleaded for help.
“The last time I saw Ife, my younger sister, was the day we buried our father. Nobody knew when I left Nigeria. Mali is bad and full of thieves and robbers.”
However, it has been confirmed that Actress Jumoke George has been hospitalized as she battles undisclosed ailment.
