Nigerian actress, Dr. Biola Adebayo, has opened up about the recent end of her marriage, responding to the public backlash that followed her revelation on social media.
Speaking candidly, Dr. Adebayo explained that she chose to break the news herself to avoid speculation and misrepresentation.
“Many people are abusing me because I revealed that my marriage has collapsed. I had to say it because I didn’t want anyone else to speak on my behalf or spread false narratives”, she stated.
The actress noted that her decision to go public was not made lightly and that she had informed her husband beforehand.
She said, “I told my husband that I would post it. So he was aware. The post was not aimed at tarnishing his image. I can’t even do that because he is my husband and the father of my child.”
Dr. Adebayo also addressed accusations regarding her previous silence about her marital life online revealing, “People had been troubling me about not posting my husband, and when I eventually spoke up about the status of our marriage, they turned it against me.”
In a calm but resolute tone, she reaffirmed her integrity and respect for her ex-husband stressing, “My husband knows that I am not what they say I am. God knows everyone’s truth.”
