The traditional council in Osogbo is concluding plans for the celebration of the 2020 annual Osogbo Festival, which has coincided with the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun.
According to a statement by the Managing Consultant of the Osun Osogbo festival, Mr. Toye Arulogun, the double celebrations would be very elaborate and shake the town, stressing that intending participants in the 2020 Osun Osogbo festivalshould be prepared to have full and huge fun.
The statement noted that activities marking the 2020 edition of the festival would commence this month with a stakeholders round table aimed at identifying and getting the inputs of partners and other stakeholders for the 2020 double celebrations.
Arulogun said that the festival committee was working round the clock to ensure that this year’s festival would be a huge success with great tourism benefits to the state and the country at large.
Oba Oyetunji said that he is very optimistic that Osogbo and the Osun Groove, a World Heritage Site by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, UNESCO, would play host to a higher number of devotees, participants and tourists during this year’s festival and the celebration of a decade of his coronation.
